Our Partners

Challenges Worldwide works with expert youth and enterprise development organisations to create opportunities for talented young people to build their skills in business management and leadership.

The skill building takes place on our Challenges Worldwide:ICS (International Citizen Service) Programme, where we place young people as Volunteer Business Associates into SME’s in Ghana, Uganda and Zambia. The placement lasts for 12 weeks, is open to 18-25 year olds and is fully funded by the UK government.

Volunteers live with host families in the community, working alongside national counterparts. This volunteer pairing contributes to the growth of an enterprise – by providing important, structured support while building personal skills and confidence.

Saltire Foundation

Founded and nurtured by the GlobalScot network, the Saltire Foundation is a registered, independent Scottish charity whose mission is to find fuel and spark the next generation of business leaders in Scotland.

Barefoot in Business is a groundbreaking documentary campaign revealing what life is really like as a female entrepreneur in Uganda.

This campaign is about trade not aid.

These women mean business.

Inequality within enterprise affects business women across the globe, but through this campaign we hope to help change this. We want to transform the experiences, expectations and opportunities for budding and established female business women across Uganda, the UK and worldwide.

Our Alumni will have the opportunity to stay involved with these organisations after their ICS placement with Challenges Worldwide by taking on a role as a mentor or advisor as part of their Action @ Home or through further work within our Alumni network.
