Volunteer with Challenges Worldwide

Are you aged 18-25?

Are you considering your future career?

Do you want to be a part of a global movement that seeks a better future for all?

We do not run your typical overseas volunteer programme. Our programme includes accredited business consultancy training, paired with a practical work placement where you will use the training to support a local business.

By joining Challenges Worldwide we can promise 3 things:

You will gain a better understanding and practical experience of international business and cross-cultural working.

You will learn to observe, record and analyse data and make recommendations based on your findings, a skill that is transferable to any profession.

As a memeber of the Challenges Worldwide Alumni, you will be connected to future opportunities to work in international organisations.

You will be a part of a team of UK Volunteers paired with In-Country Volunteers.

The team is led by a combination of UK and In-Country Team Leaders.  As a team, you will work to support local businesses during your 12 week placement.

International Citizen Service programmes are funded by the UK Government to ensure that young people from the UK and around the globe are able to take part in this once in a lifetime experience.

You don’t need cash or qualifications, just the motivation to make a difference. We want ICS to be accessible to as many volunteers as possible, so we will try to remove barriers to you joining the programme.

You do not need previous business experience as you will receive comprehensive training accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).  While some of our volunteers have a background in business, the main thing is that you are passionate about helping a business to grow and open to learning.

Successful participants have included a drama student and a coffee barista.

It’s not about previous experience or qualifications, it’s about being quick to learn and ready for a challenge.

“Despite having studied drama as a degree and having had a lot of experience within the arts, I have always felt inclined to start my own business. After having spent 10 weeks in Ghana working with my local counterpart in an agricultural business, I had the opportunity to write a full marketing plan. I now feel much more prepared, experienced and motivated to start my own enterprise.” – William, volunteered in Ghana
