Meet the Team: Accra, Winter, 2018

Welcome to our new cohort of Challenges Worldwide International Citizen Service volunteers, or more formally our new team of “Business Support Associates”.  Over the following 3 months, they will be learning Professional Consulting accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), UK with Challenges Worldwide and using their new skill set to give support to SME’s across Accra, Ghana. Let’s take a few minutes to meet the team in Accra:

 

Meet the Team: LuckyName: Derrick Lucky
Age: 23

What were you doing before the programme: Read geography and economics at university and have attempted a bit of marketing.
What do you hope to get out of the programme: Looking forward to cross cultural experience and feeding on their positive energy of efficiency, time consciousness and industry. I love volunteering, meeting new people and working in a dynamic environment.
Fun fact: Learnt how to drive on YouTube and I drive well.

What were you doing before the programme: Finished a program in Economic Policy at the University of Ghana in November.
What do you hope to get out of the programme: I hope to grow, personally and professionally, I also want to help grow small businesses in Ghana. I would like to improve and acquire new skills in enterprise diagnostics, market analysis and communication.
Fun fact: I fear snakes: I can’t even watch them on TV.

What do you hope to get out of the programme: I hope to get a better understanding of business which will help me with my business management course I will be doing at uni. What do you hope to get out of the programme: I hope to expand my knowledge on cross cultural learning and would like to establish a good network among people throughout the programme.
