An increasingly globalised world needs companies to have a workforce with an international outlook.
Challenges Worldwide as a wealth of experience in helping businesses, with one successful method being the placement of young people into a business overseas.
Currently working across Sub – Saharan Africa, these young professionals return to the UK with international, hands-on and capacity building experience that has allowed them to become effective employees in their respective fields.
Working in partnership with SDI and Scotgrad, Challenges Worldwide helps to internationalise businesses with these young professionals who have first-hand experience in international business environments.
Ryan Pugh joins us to talk about his experience of a 12-week placement in Zambia through Challenges Worldwide and International Citizen Service (ICS), the difference he made to the business, as well as some unexpected additional benefits to the local community.
Scotgrad helps businesses grow through graduate staff who are part-funded by the Scottish Government.
Challenges Worldwide has particularly extensive experience in Ghana and with the Chamber and SDI’s growing relationship with multiple Ghanaian businesses and governmental bodies, now is the time to become involved.
Join us to discover how your business can benefit from this project, and tap into this valuable source of global talent.
Young Enterprise Scotland is a registered charity that has been working to inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise in Scotland for over 40 years.
They have invited Challenges Worldwide and its Alumni to attend their national finals in Glasgow on the 15th June 2016.
The Young Enterprise Scotland Awards will take place on the 15th June 2016 at the City (Thistle Hotel), Glasgow.
The Awards celebrate the success of the businesses set up by young people aged 16-18 who participated in the Company Programme in 2015/16
Schools across Scotland participated in the programme and all schools are invited to exhibit their businesses at regional final events across Scotland between March and April 2016. Judging panels across the country selected the most innovative and successful businesses and the 17 finalists who participate on 15th June 2016
All the finalists set up their trade stands; submit a business report and deliver a business presentation to a panel of judges. The scores for these elements determine the Barclay’s Scottish Company of the Year who travel to London to compete in the UK Finals. A number of other awards are given out by independent judges for excellence in different areas of business such as marketing, leadership, innovation and more.
There will be an opportunity for a member of the Challenges Worldwide Alumni to speak at the event and tell the young attendees about their experience on ICS. We will also be running a stand on the day alongside Barclays Lifeskills, PWC and other youth employment organisations.
