Coffee & Climate Launch

The Scottish Government funded Rwanda coffee marketing project will see Challenges Worldwide work alongside Twin Trading Rwanda and the Scottish Fair Trade Forum to strengthen the capacity of cooperatives and to further raise the quality of coffee ready for sale to international markets. Much of this will be done under the guidance of Glasgow based speciality roaster Matthew Algie – who are also hoping to increase the amount of Rwandan coffee on the shelves of speciality shops across Scotland. The final project partner is Enactus who bring university students together to solve social and environmental issues through enterprise. The four year project will see students from Universities across the UK collect primary data through community mapping and establish peer to peer networks for British and Rwandan youth to collaborate on community-driven solutions that will ensure sustainable growth for the coffee cooperatives and the communities they serve.

Join us for the launch of this exciting new collaborative approach!
