ICS Celebration & Engagement (ICE)

The International Citizens Service (ICS) Celebration & Engagement (ICE) event is a joint effort between Challenges Worldwide, as the coordinating agency, Balloon Ventures, International Service, Lattitude Global Volunteering and Voluntary Service Overseas in Ghana.
Having supported over 30,000 young volunteers on the ICS programme and given the significant number of successful ICS innovation projects, we have gained an opportunity to celebrate our successes, showcase our impact on youth development across the world and share knowledge.

The aim of the ICE is to:

  • Inform decision makers and funders about the impact of youth volunteerism on economic development
  • Equip young participants with employable skills to increase youth employability
  • Encourage entrepreneurship among the youth to address unemployment
  • Engage with alumni of the ICS consortium in Ghana

This event will take place at 2 locations, that is, Tamale and Accra. Please find the details below;

Venue, Date & Time:
Accra: The Balme Library, University of Ghana, Legon | August 11, 2018 | 9:00am – 5:00pm
Tamale: Centre for Pastoral Formation, Dungu, Kumasi Road | August 4, 2018 | 9:00am – 5:00pm

You will have the opportunity to attend the event at either Accra or Tamale. Please note that you are to attend only one of these events, and attend the event CLOSEST to you.
Please note that this event is open to all. We encourage that you get involved in this event as you stand to benefit from the skill sharing and opportunities that accompanies it.

Entrepreneurship Networking Seminar

As unemployment entangles the development of the country and knocks youth into poverty, Challenges Worldwide and Kumasi Hive seeks to provide an exclusive opportunity for highly motivated youth to build their entrepreneurship skills via listening to some of Ghana’s successful entrepreneurs and uprising start-ups with bright outlooks.

The “Entrepreneurship Networking Seminar” will be an evening for business mentors to share their life experiences with young business enthusiasts and to offer a speed networking session between participants and speakers.

Objectives:
▪ Enhance knowledge of SME’s brand and sector.
▪ Build the skills of students in entrepreneurship through practical experiences.
▪ Enhance students’ knowledge of how to set up an SME and the challenges involved.
▪ Connect SME’s with students and potential employers.
▪ Develop a mentorship scheme between entrepreneurs and students.

Theme: Building Successful Entrepreneurs towards Economic Development.
